Hydraulic die cutting machine is different to CNC knife cutting machine and Laser cutting machine.
Die cutting machine needs to make different cutting dies, and to cut different cutting dies, it requires different cutting pressure and cutting area according to the cutitng products. Mostly, each cutting pattern needs a cutting die.
Even so, each different materials/thickness/size decides the feeding ways too, thin materials in rolls, thick in sheets, to feed by table or rollers.
So it's import for seller/reseller to know the customer's production requirment details to confirm the machine specification.
To cut paper or plastic, but what kind of paper/plastic? Paper cardboard for box packing or paper rolls for food package?
Is it plastic film or blister thermoforming plastic package?
And 10mm thickness materials, what kind of materials then? Packing foam maybe? Closure strip?
On the other hand, it has the manual type and auto type for choice according the production quantity, budget and labors.
Such as cutting cleaning sponge, small factory to start the business, and facing a small market, they will choose a standard 40 tons 1220x610mm manual type. It can output around 10000 pcs of sponges, then the rest of time, they will cut other materials for other products, such as fabric for mob, sponges for shoe shining, scrubbers, Scouring Pad, medical sponges, fabric dics and so on. Some developing factories, like most Chinese small factories, will choose 50 tons or 60 tons to meet the local requirements. Also some choose 100 tons sponge cuttign press with 1300x1000mm area to cut 1000x1000mm sheet by one time. This kind of factory has a popular but simple product in the market, or just on its way to the bigger factory. For the big factories with a huge market, not only for local, but also export to many other countries with good brand reputation, they always choose the automatic 200 tons or 250 tons to cut sheets 2000x1000mm by one time, and with complicated and many cutting dies for different products.

There are many foam products, Foam inserts, Case inserts, Eva Inserts, EPE foam, PE foam, PU foam, Medical packing foam, Polypropylene Foam, Cross Linked PE Foam etc. For Die Cutting, as usual simply, we regard them as thin foam in rolls, thick foam in sheets; in sheets, there are smooth EPE foam, or non-EPE foam. The density only cares a little for if it requires more pressure.
1. For thin foam rolls, or thick rolls to feed, there are manual cutting and automatic cutting.
Have to say, 1) manual type does not mean that it’s slow. Manual type cutting, as feeding by hand, it can die cut many layers which the auto type feeding way can’t handle with. Manual type also can handle the sheets and the rolls, as there is no limit in feeding length, a long feeding table can solve all problems.

For automatic type cutting rolls, it also needs to know it’s 1mm, 2mm, or thicker.
It can have the 2) full belt feeding to convey the materials only 1mm, with oposition limit function.

Manual type Cutting machine is no doubt suitable for any thick or thin materials when it’s handled feeding by intelligent man, who can think, can change and can solve problems, not like machines, which functions are set to simple movements.
